Each and every year for the past 22 years, on a day late in the month of October, a group of people descend on New Haven Avenue in downtown Melbourne. This occurs in the wee hours of the morning–before even the sun has started to rise! Who are these people? Gardeners and landscapers? Street cleaners? Military Special Operations? No, they are members of the Space Coast Vettes Corvette Club, who , with precision and a lot of coffee, take on the transformation of the Downtown Melbourne streets to greet and park hundreds of Corvette enthusiasts and their cars for the Vettes On The Avenue Corvette show. These show attendees travel from all over the Sunshine State and beyond for one of the biggest annual collections of –just– Corvettes in the state of Florida.

Known to fellow “Vette” owners and admirers as VOTA, our annual Vettes On The Avenue car show is a big draw. It brings not only the Corvettes and their drivers, and their friends and family, but the show is also attended by many of the Central Florida populace who want to see Corvettes from various “generations”, in different configurations and a variety of colors. I mean, who doesn’t want to see the American Sports Car and how it has evolved over the years??!! This is an opportunity to see Corvettes from the 1950s to present, live and up close in one venue and a chance to speak to the drivers and owners about their cars. It is a enticing venue, located in scenic Downtown Melbourne. As one strolls among the classic and new model Corvettes, there are numerous shops, restaurants and vendors waiting to welcome you in to their establishment to shop or eat and drink.

In addition, there is the bonus of an on-site DJ, and gift basket raffles, a silent auction, and a “50/50” raffle one can participate in with the purchase of tickets (you have to be present to WIN!). Our sponsors donations, the basket raffle proceeds, and the “50/50” split (from the show and drawings at our club meeting thru out the year) provide support to two local charities that are dear to our hearts : “The Children’s Hunger Project” and “Honor Flight”.
