The Road to Economic Development Runs Through …

Everything Brevard

In 2020 at 72.1 million strong, Millennials officially overtook Baby Boomers as the nation’s largest living adult generation (U.S. Census Bureau). As such, millennials are also the largest group of talent in our nation’s competitive workforce.

Why does this matter?

Regions across the country, including Florida’s Space Coast, compete for top talent to fulfill local business needs. Millennials, who prioritize a desirable lifestyle in their career search, look to things like vibrant Main Streets before signing their acceptance letter. You could say, the road to economic development runs through Main Street.

Luckily, here on Florida’s Space Coast, we have four unique downtowns (a.k.a. Main Streets) that help our local economic development agency, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC),  promote our area to talent across the nation through LiveBigSpaceCoast.com.

Historic Cocoa Village

Tucked away between U.S. 1 and the Banana River, cobble-stoned streets lead to charming shops, a diverse array of pubs and eateries, and a near century-old playhouse that brings a little Broadway to Brevard. Historic Cocoa Village is maturing into one of the area’s most unique destinations for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Explore Historic Cocoa Village at www.visitcocoavillage.com

EGAD

The Eau Gallie Arts District (EGAD) is the cultural hub of Melbourne. EGAD’s easel is an eclectic blend of galleries, restaurants, shops and events. Mural-lined streets host some of the area’s most unique (and Instagram-worthy) stops that beg exploring, and just like the other downtown districts on the Space Coast, it is growing in big ways. Historic Downtown Melbourne

Things in Historic Downtown Melbourne are looking up these days – literally. With the recent addition of two moderate high-rises, the Highline luxury apartments and Hotel Melby, the landscape of this historic Main Street looks a little different, but the charm is only getting better. Plus, this Main Street is ideal for a night out on the town with ample bars, restaurants, and community theaters just a walk away. To plan your night out (and more) visit www.downtownmelbourne.com

Historic Downtown Titusville

In the heart of the city that is the gateway to nature and space, Historic Downtown Titusville roars to life with the perfect view on launch day. However, it’s worth a visit year-round. Titusville is an official Florida Trail Town with the Coast to Coast Bike Trail going through the heart of Downtown. Hop off the bike and take a break at a brewery or head to the marina for perfect water views. Launch your trip at www.downtowntitusvillefl.com
