![]() This old school bus traveled from Valkaria to Melbourne in 1919-1920. The young man with his arm hanging out the window is Harvey Huggins, still living in Melbourne today. Mrs. Ada Carruthers, sister of Mrs. Irene Christen (one of the early known educators in Brevard), says the old school bus had to be filled with a kettle of hot water in cool weather and cranked by hand. Her brother, Wynn, broke his arm cranking it one morning. |
